Beginning on Wednesday, May 4th, we will start our Relationship Chatter classes. These sessions will include discussions about different kinds of relationships, keeping yourself safe, friendship versus intimacy, and abuse awareness and prevention. If you are planning to attend, the first session is mandatory for all participants and their main support person, as information on the outline of the class and what to expect will be discussed. NOTE: Class size will be limited, so be sure to reserve your seat today!
Here is an outline of the classes and topics:
May 4th - Class 1 - This session is mandatory for all participants and their main support staff. we will discuss the class outline, how to best support the person in the class and also review the consent forms for the class.
May 11th - Class 2 - Kinds of Relationships (identifying types of relationships, identifying the difference between healthy vs. unhealthy relationships)
May 18th - Class 3 - Keeping yourself safe: (Private vs. Public, Online Safety, social media, how to protect yourself)
May 25th - Class 4 - Friendship vs. intimate relationships (knowing the difference between the two, expectations of people in the relationship, private vs. public, healthy vs unhealthy, consent in general –giving consent, asking for consent, denying consent, how to receive consent).
June 1st - Class 5 - Abuse awareness and prevention (all types of abuse, keeping yourself safe)
June 8th - Class 6 - will be held in partnership with the St. Joseph Health Department.
